Status:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
**Schedule: 6:30am - 3:00pm & 12:30pm
- 9:00pm weekdays with rotating weekend requirements**
Job Summary:Serves as a primary contact to patients, family members, or visitors. Provides appropriate information regarding patients and location of services and may direct or escort patients or guests to those locations. Seeks to solve patient/guest problems and complaints. Escalates issues to other personnel when needed. May be responsible for the issuance of identification badges to associates, vendors and contractors. May receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency and nonemergency calls for security services. Patient and Guest Relations Representatives are essential associates in a 24/7 environment and may be required to be flexible with scheduling and shift coverage
Primary Duties:
- Welcome patients and visitors to the hospital.
- Provide information and directions to locations throughout the hospital for patients and guests.
- Coordinate transportation services and/or escort patients, visitors and staff as necessary.
- Access computer terminal for patient information regarding admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Issue photo identification badges to associate, vendors and contractors.
- Oversee the entrances to the facility offering assistance and services as guests enter.
- Arrange overnight accommodations within the hospital and check guests in and out.
- Collect money for accommodations, make deposits, provide/arrange guest services such as wakeup calls.
- If assigned a specific department, monitor the waiting areas, interact with doctors, family members and patients
- Answer patient and guest questions and seek to resolve difficulties or issues.
- May take and resolve simple patient and guest complaints.
- Monitor appearance of lobbies, waiting areas, elevators and entrances
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required. 12 years of job related experience required
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must successfully complete all MedStar training related to violence prevention, deescalation and crisis prevention intervention.
