Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Patient Service Coordinator to manage front desk operations, ensuring a seamless experience for patients during their visits. This role involves checking in patients, managing appointment schedules, verifying insurance details, processing payments, and handling referrals while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, respectful, and confidential support to patients and their families.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations consistently.
- Utilize the EPIC system for patient registration, scheduling, and communication.
- Address in-basket messages promptly and accurately.
- Manage fax communications and ensure proper documentation is scanned into patient records.
- Schedule necessary pre-operative appointments and confirm receipt of orders from referring providers.
- Fill appointment slots as needed due to cancellations.
- Verify Medical Assistance eligibility and insurance coverage using the Electronic Verification System (EVS) and RTE in EPIC.
- Ensure accurate demographic and insurance information is collected and updated at each visit.
- Collect payments, issue receipts, and securely manage cash transactions.
- Assist with special projects and prepare correspondence for missed appointments as needed.
- Answer phone calls and provide relevant information to callers, taking messages for providers.
- Collaborate with transportation services for patient needs.
- Maintain a secure environment by locking windows and cabinets at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills
The ideal candidate must possess strong multitasking abilities, ensuring excellent customer service while assisting providers and managing scheduling tasks.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience; 2 years preferred.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday.

Location
This position is based within the School of Medicine.
