Why Join Us:

Creation is the core of TikTok's purpose. Our platform is built to help imaginations thrive. This is doubly true of the teams that make TikTok possible.

Together, we inspire creativity and bring joy - a mission we all believe in and aim towards achieving every day.

To us, every challenge, no matter how difficult, is an opportunity; to learn, to innovate, and to grow as one team.

About the Team:

Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe.

We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

The Trust & Safety Policy team develops and reviews the policies that underpin our Community Guidelines to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our users and content creators to enjoy and express themselves.

As the Regional Product Policy Manager for Integrity and Authenticity content, you are part of a team of policy managers working to address content that spreads misinformation and conspiracy theories.

This includes manipulated and synthetic media, medical misinformation, and election integrity, among other issue areas.

You will work closely with a variety of internal partners including other members of the Regional Product Policy team, Issue Product Policy, and USDS Product Policy who specialize in integrity and authenticity content.

In addition to policy development and review, you will also support internal teams which identify, triage and remove violative content.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and articulate ambiguous and complex ideas into clear documentation and analysis;
  • Work closely with crossfunctional partners and external experts to stay uptodate on emerging social media trends in the US and Canada to predict and prevent violations of TikTok's Community Guidelines;
  • Execute research projects with internal Trust & Safety stakeholders, including work planning, research, data collection, and analysis;
  • Draft, analyze, update, and implement Integrity and Authenticity policies for the US and Canadian markets, leveraging insights in line with our global approach to Trust and Safety;
  • Advise internal and external stakeholders on the nuances of Integrity and Authenticity content;
  • Maintain and improve guidance and training documents for moderators and internal Trust & Safety teams working to safeguard the platform;
  • Act as a policy point of contact for all Integrity and Authenticity content in coordination with regional and global stakeholders, and respond to content safetyrelated emergencies.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of work experience and/or advanced education in Trust & Safety, content policy, brand safety, social science, public policy, law, behavioral science, social media or other relevant field with a focus on integrity and authenticity content (e.g., conspiracy theories, synthetic media, medical misinformation, and election integrity);
  • Significant knowledge of the online safety space; content management; and online community;
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the US and Canadian markets, including cultural norms and public discourse on content safety considerations;
  • Passion for limiting user exposure to misinformation and conspiracy theories, all while balancing human rights and fundamental freedoms;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and deep familiarity with policy development;
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, identify tradeoffs, and make decisions in highpressure situations;
  • Resilience and commitment to selfcare in order to manage the psychological and emotional demands of the role.
TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. Our platform connects people from across the globe and so does our workplace. At TikTok, our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy.

To achieve that goal, we are committed to celebrating our diverse voices and to creating an environment that reflects the many communities we reach.

We are passionate about this and hope you are too.
