Senior Estimator- Civil Infrastructure Construction

Who are you?
You are a seasoned Senior Infrastructure Estimator with at least ten (10) years of progressive experience aiming for the next challenge or currently fulfilling a similar role in a comparable setting. Kindly note that this position involves a hybrid work arrangement at the Baltimore office (minimum 3 days per week).
- Develop cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
- Meet and negotiate costs with Contractors.
- Utilize the appropriate estimating tool (client tools, customized estimating spreadsheets, industry estimating software, benchmarking, etc.).
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and deliver presentations to the client.
- Contribute input to value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
- Maintain contact with clients and other consultants throughout all project stages.
- Offer leadership to the cost management team when needed, ensuring accountability for all deliverables.
- Identify enhancements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and forward ideas to the relevant line manager.
- Execute all aspects of estimating, analysis, and validation of contractor costs.
- Oversee cost checks and perform valuations on larger projects, ensuring a timely and accurate cost checking and valuation process.
- Provide input to value engineering; negotiate and approve final costs.
- Develop life cycle, maintenance, and operational costs.
- Assist in building a historical pricing database.
- Assist in creating cost estimating guidelines for various programs.
- Act as a Team Player – supporting junior estimators and the team, being adaptable and maintaining a positive mindset.
- Must have experience in the Infrastructure construction industry (Rail, Light Rail, Bus, Transportation Civil Construction).
- Proficiency in computer-based estimating software, e.g., on-screen take-off, Revit, Blue Beam.
- Solid understanding of all construction procurement methods.
- Good knowledge and experience acquired across various industry sectors.
- Team player - Demonstrating strong presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and a team player.
Education/Experience:
- Essential to have infrastructure project experience.
- Technical work background or college degree in Cost Estimating, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in cost estimating, particularly on the implementation side.
- Previous involvement in multiple project phases. (Not limited to preconstruction activities).
- Preferable consultancy background.
- Experience with civil estimating is vital.
- Solid comprehension of all civil, structural, and architectural systems.
