As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be a member of the defense team against cybercrime for our clients' networks. You will protect our managed clients' networks from cyberattacks and unauthorized access. You will do this by reviewing, responding to, and mitigating security threats and events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Design, implement, evaluate, and maintain comprehensive security solutions for client environments.

Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in clients' systems and networks.

Configure and manage multiple security solutions such as firewalls, authentication systems, IDS/IPS, EDR, loggers and other security technologies.

Perform threat hunting as required.

Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner when escalated.

Secure and manage cloud-based infrastructure and applications.

Stay up to date on the latest security threats and trends and recommend mitigating safeguards.

Collaborate with internal teams and handle escalations as monitored events are evaluated and escalated for further investigation or mitigation.

Review clients' security posture against best practice standards to recommend adequate safeguards.

Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve security best practices around procedures and safeguards.

Document security procedures and maintain accurate records.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of staff

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


The Cybersecurity Engineer works primarily in the office but may be required to travel to client locations if performing implementation or incident response activities to address security issues and concerns.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related experience

3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity engineering role

Strong understanding of networking concepts and security principles

Proficiency with common Operating Systems and configurations

High Proficiency in security tools and technologies like EDR, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, vulnerability scanners and SIEM

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Experience in a managed services provider environment

Bonus points for certification in recognized frameworks like CompTIA CySA+, CASP+, PenTest+, CEH or equivalent
