Overview: Cyber Defense Technologies (CDT) is on the lookout for a highly proficient and driven Senior Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to enhance our team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in architecting, evaluating, and deploying secure operating environments, networks, and security oversight mechanisms to protect sensitive information and reduce cybersecurity threats.

Clearance Requirements: An active Secret clearance is mandatory. Applications from candidates who do not fulfill this criterion will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enforce security protocols to protect systems, networks, and infrastructure from cyber risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee IT security systems and applications, incident management, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability evaluations.
  • Formulate and implement security controls.
  • Investigate, assess, and recommend innovative security tools and methodologies.
  • Administer, maintain, and upgrade various classified virtual enterprise systems and related technologies (VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, Windows Domain).
  • Provide security engineering and development support throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Execute continuous monitoring and security testing using tools such as ACAS/Nessus.
  • Propose mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities and patching needs.
  • Ensure that proposed system alterations are evaluated and that implemented changes do not compromise system security.
  • Maintain authorization and re-authorization documentation in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Track the client's progress towards completing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Ensure that information system users' activities are monitored and adhere to security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with corporate security and program/project personnel to create, implement, and sustain procedural documents and operations (configuration management, continuous monitoring, business continuity, disaster recovery, etc.).
Technical Expertise Required:
  • Experience with enterprise software installations and upgrades.
  • Familiarity with RMF, NIST, and NISPOM requirements, configurations, settings, and documentation.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related Engineering field, typically accompanied by 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the required educational background.
Preferred Certifications:
  • ISSM CAP, CISSP, or CISM Certification
  • ISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP Certification
  • ISSO Security+, CISA, or CASP+ Certification
  • MCSE, Linux, and/or CCNP Security Certification
