Position Overview

Leidos is in search of a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to enhance our team dedicated to supporting critical defense initiatives. The successful applicant will take on the role of a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, focusing on high-performance computing systems and collaborating with senior defense officials to ensure the integrity of vital national computing resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, test, and implement secure operating systems, networks, and database solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and provide strategic recommendations for application architecture.
  • Address a variety of security challenges, including system architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic management, and network access controls.
  • Utilize encryption technologies and perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on diverse security frameworks.
  • Engage in technical discussions and represent the organization in collaborative meetings focused on cybersecurity matters.

Security Clearance Requirements

All candidates must possess an Active Top Secret Clearance and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent qualifications; candidates with military training or associate degrees, extensive certifications, and additional experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Current M/IAT-II/IAM-I certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience with various high-performance computing systems and technologies, including:
    • Cray/Cray EX, IBM, SGI, Penguin, or custom architectures
    • Linux operating systems
    • InfiniBand (IB) and Intel Omni-Path interconnects
    • Portable Batch System (PBS), Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management (SLURM), or IBM Platform Load Sharing Facility (LSF) schedulers
    • Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, or ARM processors
    • Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs)
  • ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is between $81,000 and $146,875. This range serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of salary. Factors influencing the final offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
