Under the administrative direction of the Director and functional guidance and direction from the Chief Deputy Director, the Office of Equity Compliance (OEC) Officer will lead the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) OEC Office.

The OEC Officer is responsible for performing and executing high-level and complex administrative, management, and policy development implementation as it relates to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Civil Rights.

Working Conditions


The incumbent is a Work Week Group E employee and is expected to work an average of 40 hours per week each year and may be required to work specified hours based on the business needs of the office.

The incumbent works in an office setting, with artificial light and temperature control. Daily access to and use of a personal computer and telephone is essential. Sitting and standing requirements in the office are consistent with office work. The incumbent must be able to function under changing priorities and timelines. These knowledge and abilities are expected to be obtained from the following kinds of experience with substantial participation in the formulation, operation and/or evaluation of program policies (experience may have been paid or volunteer; in State service, other government settings, or in a private organization):

CEA Level A - Responsible for broad administrative and program activities, including the execution and/or evaluation of program policies.


CEA Level B - Responsible for extensive managerial and program administration or broad program manager experience with substantial participation in the formulation, operation, and/or evaluation of program policies.

Length of List Eligibility


The results of this examination will only be used to fill the position of Office of Equity Compliance Officer, CEA A and may be used to fill subsequent vacancies for this position for a period of up to 12 months.
