SUMMARY
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering top-notch customer service by engaging in financial conversations with clients and prospects to understand their needs and offer suitable solutions. You will also identify opportunities for referrals to ensure all client needs are met and maintain strong client relationships in line with First Interstate Bank's Service Commitments and values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Provide personalized customer service both in person and over the phone by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and suggesting solutions.
- Perform various teller duties such as processing financial transactions, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, and more.
- Open and manage a range of products such as checking and savings accounts, IRAs & Certificates of Deposit, consumer credit cards, and more.
- Engage in financial discussions with clients and prospects to identify needs and provide appropriate solutions. Spot referral opportunities for Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, and Wealth Management, utilizing 360 View for documenting referrals and other client activities.
- Develop client relationships through proactive outreach efforts including First 15.
- Demonstrate efficiency in work completion, adapting to meet deadlines, and maintaining accuracy and professionalism in tasks.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes, ensuring compliance with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the role.
- Show initiative and set a positive example for others.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE
A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with two or more years of experience in banking or a related field.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Key attributes include attention to detail, proficiency in verbal and written communication, confidentiality maintenance, tactful interaction with clients and colleagues, familiarity with personal computers and Word/Excel software, and strong 10-key skills are advantageous.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
You should be able to understand and create simple written and verbal communications and effectively present information to various audiences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills are essential, including operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and basic data interpretation.
REASONING ABILITY
You should be able to apply logical thinking to follow instructions and solve straightforward issues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While carrying out the job responsibilities, you will need to communicate effectively, stand, walk, use your hands, and occasionally lift objects up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
