Building Operations Specialist Position at NVE



NVE seeks a dedicated building operations specialist to oversee construction monitoring and operations support for a Capital Renewal Project at a Federal Facility in Kansas City, MO. The selected Construction Manager will act as a crucial link between the Operations & Management (O&M) Team and the Construction Project team, ensuring the seamless continuity of operations. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years experience in monitoring, operating, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, automation controls, and fire/life safety systems. This role involves collaborating with the night shift to provide uninterrupted project support, attend project meetings, and address operational issues. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM. The project duration extends from July 1, 2024, to May 20, 2026, with possibilities for an extension.



Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison for the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contract globally to ensure continuous operations for the GSA in relation to the Faade Repair Capital Project.
  • Provide expertise on building systems, guide project teams, and locate equipment and system shut-offs.
  • Supervise system operations, make adjustments for efficiency, and maintain equipment.
  • Proficient in navigating and troubleshooting Niagara BAS.
  • Review design documents and assess impacts on building operations.
  • Coordinate work schedules and communicate with project teams effectively.
  • Inform NVE's Project Manager of upcoming work and support needs.
  • Engage 3rd party subcontractors for additional assistance when necessary.

Skills Required:
  • Ability to interpret Architectural blueprints and create design concepts.
  • Experience in managing mechanical and plumbing systems for heating and air-conditioning services.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and Microsoft Suite tools.
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems and controls.

Qualifications:
  • Preferably holds a Journeyman License.
  • NATE Certification is advantageous.
  • Completion of Niagara BAS Training is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification is desirable.
  • Possesses an existing HSPD-12 Determination for Work.
