Quality Assurance Inspector I - 2nd and 3rd Shift Available

We are currently seeking:

We are in need of a Quality Assurance Inspector for the Night Shift in Dallas, Texas. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be tasked with maintaining product quality through testing to ensure adherence to specifications. Test raw materials for quality, density, and flow to make necessary adjustments to the production process.

Working on a rotating schedule.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Calculate and record target, actual, and theoretical weights of finished products daily
  • Generate daily production reports
  • Inspect samples of produced pipes for quality control
  • Conduct weekly color inventory check for production requirements and mix special color orders
  • Perform ash, burst, and tensile strength tests
  • Report test results to supervisors for production adjustments
  • Unload trucks using a forklift when required
  • Verify finished product inventory meets customer demands
  • Initiate inventory processes to meet workflow demands
  • Utilize computer for tracking inventory, colors, shipments, production reports, and test records
  • Follow safety protocols and company guidelines
  • Complete necessary paperwork for accurate inventory transactions
  • Monthly visual check on resin silo levels, utilizing safety harness when climbing ladder
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Experience in essential functions listed
  • Basic math skills and the ability to operate a forklift
  • Proficiency in using equipment for quality control testing
  • Experience with power tools and computer applications
  • Strong organization, time management, and detail-oriented skills
  • Capability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in English

Within the first few months:

  • Complete required training
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders
  • Gain expertise in Atkore's Business System and your role's importance
