The Regulatory Relations Manager is responsible for maintaining relationships and interactions with regulators through the execution of the overall strategy for regulatory engagement and enterprise-wide standards. This includes managing regulatory examinations, inquiries and meetings. Additional responsibilities include:

Serving as the primary point of contact between the regulators and the Front Line Unit / Control Function (FLU/CF) while managing exams, inquiries and other regulatory matters in accordance with enterprise-wide standards. This role would support regulatory activity within Global Technology, Global Operations, Consumer, Global Risk Management, Global Financial Crimes, and/or Corporate Audit.

Building strong partnerships and collaborating effectively with FLU/CF stakeholders to drive strategic Global Regulatory Relations (GRR) engagement model.

Managing and directing all aspects of regulatory exams to ensure consistent exam practices, successful execution, and reduction of risk exposure for the company. This includes being responsive to regulatory inquiries; effectively managing ongoing supervision meetings; aiding with preparation of regulatory responses; as well as regulatory activity tracking, reporting and escalation.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between regulators and senior bank executives, building relationships with regulators to understand their requests and share information with senior bank executives
  • Build relationships with senior business partners to understand their functions and provide guidance on regulatory engagement.
  • Manage routines and ad-hoc meetings with regulators, including meeting facilitation, tracking subsequent requests and recapping the discussion
  • Oversee and execute requirements for regulatory exams, including engagement of key stakeholders, facilitation of meetings, coordination of requested documentation and engagement of regulators
  • Communicate and escalate issues and emerging risks in a timely and concise manner to business partners, as appropriate.
  • Partner with GRR colleagues to share best practices, identify regulatory themes and emerging issues.
  • Provide regulator agency relationship support, as needed (logistics, technology, reporting and research).
  • Contribute to enterprise, business and control function reporting on regulatory activity, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in risk management, business controls, project management, regulatory relations, regulatory supervision, or a combination of each.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with leaders at all levels of the organization, including senior executives. Must be able to learn and understand complex matters and summarize key information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently, pull stakeholders together to resolve challenges and ensure deadlines are met.
