**Description**

The **primary responsibility** of the Assistant Branch Manager is to assist the Branch Manager in overseeing retail branch service levels, operations, sales, compliance and security. To accomplish this task, the Assistant Branch Manager will work with the Branch Manager to manage customer satisfaction, business development, employee training, staffing and be an advocate for all branch business initiatives

**Responsibilities:**

Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to companys policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations.

Assure the branch is opened and closed during approved operating hours.

Assist in creating branch employee schedules and assure approved staffing levels are met during business hours.

Approve timesheets.

Provide scheduled and ad hoc training for branch staff specific to; individual positions, bank services, bank policies, bank products, compliance and security.

Assist the Branch Manager in conducting documented weekly team meetings and documented monthly and quarterly staff coaching.

Plan, organize, attend or participate in outside sales meetings, networking events, community events and customer appreciation events before and after hours as required.

Work as a team with Branch Manager to meet branch sales goals.

When required, assist branch staff within their responsibilities including, but not limited to, cashing checks, depositing cash & checks, transferring funds, retirement savings deposits, mail deposits, loan payments, redeeming savings bonds, balancing vault and balancing ATM.

Greet customers, answer phones, respond to questions, resolve customer issues and perform account maintenance.

Assure branch audits are completed; Prepare month end branch reports as requested.

Assist the Branch Manager with executing performance goals and expectations, motivating, mentoring, coaching, and the writing and administration of performance reviews.

Assure branch staff have the materials, training and knowledge to service all customers.

Make recommendations for branch staff promotions, disciplinary actions and termination.

Participate in conducting employment interviews and the hiring of new staff.

Work at multiple branch locations as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

**This position directly supervises the following positions: Universal Bankers and Tellers**

Requirements:

In addition to a high school education, this position requires knowledge equivalent to skills acquired through two years of College (Associates Degree), technical or business school.

This position requires 5 years experience in management, sales, banking, finance or retail

Ability to obtain an NMLS certification

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required for this position.

Intermediate skills in Navigator, Business Process Manager, Director, CWS, Simplex GiftCard and Web Capture preferred.

10 Key skills are required for this position.

Keyboarding skills are required for this position.

Sales and cash handling experience required
