HR Coordinator/Workers' Compensation (Emeryville)

LHH is teaming up with a Retail/Grocery company in Emeryville, CA in search of a contract HR Coordinator This is a HYBRID position that is expected to last at least 3 months.

This role will be responsible for managing workers' compensation claims, ensuring accurate and timely entry of claims into a third-party system, and effectively communicating with employees and management regarding the status of claims.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter workers' compensation claims into the designated third-party system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Monitor and update claim statuses, ensuring all information is current and correctly documented.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees, management, and third-party administrators to provide updates and gather necessary information.
  • Respond to inquiries from employees and management regarding the status and details of claims.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to workers' compensation.
  • Maintain organized and comprehensive records of all claims and related communications.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to identify trends and provide recommendations for improving the workers' compensation process.
  • Assist in preparing reports and analysis related to workers' compensation claims as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in workers' compensation claims management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using third-party claims management systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with third-party administrators.
  • Knowledge of best practices in workers' compensation claims management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Job Type: Contract (expected duration of at least 3 months)

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Emeryville, CA (hybrid, in office 2 days/3 days remote per week)

Hours: Full-time, regular office hours

Pay Rate: $24-27/hour, depending on experience
