POSITION PURPOSE


To assist with the coordination for the delivery of goals associated with technical assistance support to small businesses in Arizona, enabling small businesses to improve their business processes, attract more customers, and ultimately grow their businesses.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with organizing educational resources that provide value to small businesses within the Local First network. Provide direct assistance, organize workshops and coordinate guidance to English-speaking and Spanish-speaking businesses.


This position will assist in project management of one-on-one technical assistance and organize data and reporting for technical assistance provided to small businesses at Local First Arizona.

This will include tracking engagement, touch points and detailed support provided to small businesses that represent a variety of industries and backgrounds, and coordinating reporting with a variety of programs at Local First Arizona.


Responsibilities:

Directly Supporting Small Businesses - 60%

  • Provide support to local businesses including business plan development, marketing, finances, accessing funding, startup assistance, and other areas as identified.
  • Connect businesses to the appropriate program, resource, person, or opportunity that Local First Arizona provides
  • Execute strategies to build rapport and trust with small businesses to provide them with direct technical assistance.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective businesses and coordinate assistance with follow through by the appropriate team member.
  • Visit businesses to register for programs and make them aware of existing resources at Local First Arizona.
  • Ensure the pipeline for business assistance within Local First contracts are properly documented and reported for all interactions.
  • Recommend creative ideas to assist businesses based on trends through intake forms and assessments.

Project Coordination & Reporting - 30%

  • Coordinate and organize reporting of technical assistance work associated with contracts at Local First Arizona.
  • Track assessments of businesses in specific areas of Arizona. This includes processing intake forms of resources that are delivered for each business, and communicating proactively with the business support team.
  • Oversee the data entry and facilitation of all team tasks for the technical assistance program in Local First project management software.
  • Manage the process for business assistance reporting for all programs at Local First Arizona including ensuring tasks are completed, reports are developed on time, and teams are appropriately communicating support provided.
  • Track meetings the team facilitates with partners providing additional services and document all work related to the delivery of contracts.
  • Capture meaningful stories of work being facilitated for the technical assistance program and organize them in useful ways for the team's leadership to access when needed.
  • Track data and progress for team goals related to business support services provided at Local First Arizona.

Local First & Business Support Team on-going support - 10%

  • Work with the team on all technical assistance related strategic planning, goals, and related execution.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and check ins for fulfillment of duties across Local First Arizona.
  • Attend Local First AZ team meetings to stay up to date on developments of projects other team members are working on, provide enthusiasm and support where most needed, and share ideas to make the organization more efficient.
  • Stay apprised of local and national local economy news and events (read newsletters, updates from partners).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent.
  • 3 years of working with small businesses.
  • 2 years reporting or data management experience.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Bilingual in English-Spanish
  • Good perspective on the history of the state of Arizona.
  • Business experience and an understanding of small business needs.
  • Experience using project management tools.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects at one time.
  • Fast learner and resourceful.
  • Quick at delivering results and accomplishing tasks.
  • Administrative skills understand daytoday operations of an office.
  • Works well independently and communicates effectively with team members of all personality types.
  • People first focused with an approachable manner and excellent customer service skills
  • Can manage processes and provide helpful recommendations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Consistent strong attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Proficient in Google Drive/Apps, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions.
