Description

As the Business Development Specialist at Summit, you will focus on new account development, strategic accounts, customer relationships, and local marketing efforts. The role involves solution selling and promoting differentiated service offerings to enhance customer relationships. Summit offers commission plans, benefits, and ongoing training.

Role Summary

  • Understand Summit services and sell products to customer accounts.
  • Travel to customer sites and provide accurate quote information.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance sales strategies.
  • Seek opportunities to promote Summit's solutions portfolio and maximize revenue.
  • Manage relationships with internal/external customers and industry associations.
  • Negotiate pricing with customers and suppliers to drive business results.
  • Responsible for successful deployment of existing sales solutions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years sales experience in electrical supply distribution, manufacturer, or rep agency.
  • Experience in business-to-business market with exposure to customers, suppliers, and markets.
  • Effective user of ERP systems and BI tools.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to build a network of industry leaders and travel as needed.
  • Knowledge of local market, electrical products, and strategic planning.
  • Customer service orientation, time management, and flexibility.
  • Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.

Beneficial Skills

  • Success in formulating sales strategies and driving performance.
  • Experience with ERP systems and minimal supervision.
  • Completion of EPEC Silver and/or Gold, Bachelor's degree.
  • Current relationships with sales leadership and customers.
