Oversight is exercised over assigned personnel.
Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Provides direction to custodial staff and established cleaning schedules.
Trains all new custodial staff.
Develops work schedules for custodians.
Carries a pager and/or cell phone and answers all night pages and phone calls.
Opens meeting rooms and sets up for meetings.
Maintains inventory stock of cleaning supplies.
Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, seals, polishes, and buffs floors.
Cleans and sanitizes rest rooms and replaces supplies.
Dusts and polishes surfaces.
Moves equipment and furniture as needed for cleaning purposes.
Washes walls, ceilings, windows, and woodwork.
Removes snow and /or ice from areas necessary to maintain safety.
Collects and removes rubbish and wastepaper for recycling.
Vacuums, spot cleans and shampoos carpets and furniture.
Collects recyclable materials.
Cleans blinds.
Locks and unlocks doors as needed to maintain security.
Ability to work rotating work schedules (including weekends, and holidays).Notifies immediate Building Facilities Director of unsafe conditions.
Notifies immediate Supervisor of required building repairs.
Performs HVAC systems checks.
Maintains security of the buildings.
Performs minor building repairs.
Changes lamps.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED and moderate experience in custodial and HVAC work or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.

Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials and equipment.
Ability to perform operations involved in custodial duties.

Working ConditionsPhysical Requirements and Activity This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions, frequently requires lifting and occasionally requires sitting, speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing and tasting or smelling.
