Summary: As a Compensation and Employee Engagement Intern with the Human Resources Department at Travis Credit Union, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Human Resources team in supporting survey job code research, as well as fostering positive employee engagement. This internship offers a comprehensive experience in various aspects of HR within a financial services environment.

Profile:

Compensation:
  • Under supervision, will be responsible for reconciling benchmarked job codes with current market surveys and developing a market survey job code database.
  • Compare the organization's job roles with similar roles in the industry using survey data to align with existing credit union job families.
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of job data by cross-referencing with multiple sources. Maintain updated records of job codes and descriptions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation on research outcomes, cataloging outliers and anomalies encountered.
  • Partner closely with Compensation & Benefits Specialists ensuring accuracy of market research and database.
  • Depending upon experience, may become more engaged in other compensation related activities.
Employee Engagement:
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing employee engagement events and activities.
  • Conduct surveys and analyze feedback to measure employee satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to create and distribute internal communications promoting engagement initiatives.
  • Help maintain and update the company's intranet and social media platforms with relevant engagement content.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas for enhancing employee engagement
Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Inquisitive mindset and comfortable with asking questions and seeking guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems is a plus.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources, Total Rewards or related field.
Reporting and Requirements:
  • Reports directly to the Leadership within the Human Resources Department.
  • Must be a Junior, Senior, New Graduate, or Post Graduate student in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in retail banking or financial services is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Typically requires no previous professional experience.
Compensation:

Six Month Internship: $25.00 per hour - 20 hrs/week (schedule TBD)
