As a key member of our mental health team, the Psychological Assistant - Adult Generalist will provide high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to adult members who present with a range of mental health needs. Working under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist or board-certified Psychiatrist, you will collaborate with treating primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including test administration and interpretation, to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychotherapy and crisis intervention services, to address the unique needs of each member.
- Collaborate with treating primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
- Provide education and support to members and their families to promote adherence to treatment plans and improve overall well-being.
- Participate in staff conferences and meetings to share knowledge, best practices, and treatment outcomes.
- Conduct psychological evaluations, including assessment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, to inform treatment planning and decision-making.
- Develop and implement behavioral medicine and health psychology programs to promote healthy behaviors and improve overall well-being.
- Provide consultation and education to other healthcare professionals on matters related to mental health, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.
- PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a psychology doctoral internship - minimum of 1 year (1500 hours).
- Psychologist License (California) within 24 months of hire.
- Psychological Assistant Registration (California) required at hire.
- Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Previous clinical experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
- Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice and psychotherapy research methods.
- Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social functions that contribute to mental health.
- Accuracy in diagnosing patients and developing effective treatment plans.
- Competence in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
- Professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
