Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary: Urbana City Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This role is essential in helping students improve their communication skills and thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication needs.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of student evaluations, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student goals and objectives.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Ohio state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Preferably, experience in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Compliance with state and federal regulations for special education.
