Commis Chef (Pastry) - Accommodation Available - Forest Row, East Sussex

Our award-winning kitchen team has an opportunity to join our friendly brigade as Commis Chef within our Pastry Section. We are looking for an enthusiatic, interested and reliable indivdual to work alongside our Head Pastry Chef and their team within this prestigious kitchen producing top quality desserts and pastries for our popular afternoon teas and 2AA Rosette Anderida Restaurant.

In addition to culinary skills, you will maintain your kitchen section and assist the Head Pastry Chef with the operation of the kitchen to the highest standards required by the hotel.  The team work hard to develop chefs at every level and this is an exciting time to be part of new culinary offerings at the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To follow instruction to assist in the production of cakes, breads and pastries
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the food prep areas within remit and ensure equipement is ready for use
  • To work with the Pastry kitchen team to ensure an efficient, smooth and quick service while maintaining principles and standards set by the Head Pastry and Executive Head Chef
  • To contribute to a professional and happy working atmosphere

Commis Chef Key Skills

  • A good team player with initiative and proactivity Reliable and positive Keen to progress and learn in a busy kitchen environment A good understanding of HACCP procedures and implementation. Passionate about great food and service Flexible to work hours as required (40 hours per week over a variety of shifts working 5 days out of 7)
