Key Responsibilities of a Culinary Assistant:

As a Culinary Assistant at SkiBound, you will play a vital role in our kitchen operations, ideal for those with experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie. Our culinary offerings include a structured menu designed for our school guests, featuring a variety of options such as cold breakfast buffets, hearty lunch selections including soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as a three-course dinner tailored to suit both younger and adult palates.

With a pre-established menu, you will have the opportunity to stay organized and manage preparation tasks effectively, ensuring seamless service during busy meal times.

In this role, you will take guidance from senior chefs regarding food preparation, adhere to recipe specifications, and maintain the highest standards for dietary needs. You will also collaborate with fellow Culinary Assistants to manage service on days when the Head Chef is off, and assist with cleaning duties as necessary to support the kitchen team.

Your prior kitchen experience should reflect a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to continuous learning. You will be well-versed in health, safety, and hygiene standards to uphold a clean and safe kitchen environment.

If you possess advanced culinary skills, we also have openings for 'Sous Chef' and 'Head Chef' positions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous, such as NVQ.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and Health and Safety regulations, including COSHH.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the catering industry.
  • A proactive approach to assisting across all kitchen sections.
  • High energy levels and a desire to learn.
