Culinary Assistant - SkiBound

Embarking on a winter season with SkiBound offers a unique opportunity to engage with enthusiastic skiers from around the globe. With over three decades of expertise in the hospitality sector, we focus on providing an exceptional ski experience for school and youth groups, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere at our club hotels located in premier French ski resorts.

What are the responsibilities of a Culinary Assistant?

A Culinary Assistant at SkiBound is ideal for individuals with experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie. Our guests enjoy a structured menu throughout their stay, featuring a variety of options including cold buffets for breakfast, a diverse lunch selection, and a three-course dinner. We cater to younger tastes while also offering a more sophisticated menu for adult patrons.

With a predetermined menu, there is ample opportunity to stay organized and manage preparation tasks effectively, ensuring seamless service during peak meal times, even with a high volume of guests.

As a Culinary Assistant, you will take guidance from the senior culinary team regarding food preparation, adhering to recipe guidelines when creating dishes from scratch, and maintaining the highest standards for dietary needs. On days when the Head Chef is off, you will confidently collaborate with fellow Culinary Assistants to oversee service and manage a simplified menu. Additionally, you will be prepared to assist with dishwashing duties as needed to support the kitchen team.

With your background in kitchen operations, you should possess a genuine passion for food and a desire to learn and grow. A solid understanding of health, safety, and cleanliness standards is essential to ensure compliance in the kitchen environment.

If you have more advanced culinary experience, we also have openings for 'Sous Chef' and 'Head Chef' positions.

What qualifications and skills are required for a Culinary Assistant?

  • Prior experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie.
  • Any culinary qualifications, such as NVQ, are advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Health and Safety regulations, including COSHH.
  • A strong enthusiasm for the catering field.
  • A readiness to assist across all kitchen sections.
  • High energy levels and a motivation to learn.
