Role Overview:

As a Culinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering a delightful dining experience for our guests. This position is ideal for individuals with experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie. You will assist in preparing a structured menu that caters to both younger guests and adults, ensuring a variety of options from breakfast buffets to three-course dinners.

With a well-defined menu, you will have the opportunity to stay organized and manage preparation tasks effectively, ensuring smooth service during busy meal times.

In this role, you will follow guidance from senior chefs regarding food preparation, adhere to recipe specifications, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. On days when the Head Chef is off, you will collaborate with fellow Culinary Assistants to manage service and provide a simplified menu. You will also assist with dishwashing duties as needed to support the kitchen team.

Your passion for culinary arts and commitment to learning will be essential, along with your knowledge of health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie.
  • Qualifications in culinary arts are advantageous, such as NVQ.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the catering industry.
  • A proactive approach to assisting across all kitchen sections.
  • High energy levels and a desire to learn and grow.
