Our client, a mid-sized biotech company, is seeking an interim Senior Payroll Manager. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Workday bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll processes to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of payroll transactions, including employee compensation, LOA’s, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Analyze related payroll/benefits data, review Workday reports, and provide documentation per audit requirements.
  • Manage payroll analysts and provide training, coaching, and review of their payroll analyses.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting and assist with audits and other compliance matters.
  • Ensure processing of payroll updates, new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates, and stock transactions (NQ, RSU, PSU), as needed.
  • Review/update payroll processes and procedures, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and related employment laws and best practices.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding compensation.
  • Ensure SOX compliance with internal control policies.
  • Perform other related functions and ad hoc projects, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 7+ years of related experience; or Master’s degree in a related discipline and 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in multi-state payroll processing for 1,000+ employees.
  • Experience using Workday Payroll and analyzing/reviewing Workday payroll reports.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
