Serve as a contact for the One Card office in managing house access

Manage JMG and trunk room storage processes

Assist with student assignments, including entering student assignments, room changes, the annual room draw process and off-campus assignments

Assist with the distribution and inventory of student room keys

Assist with academic year break housing

Assist with extended housing, summer housing and early arrivals processes

The student support coordinator will be expected to attend regular meetings and serve on other departmental and all campus committees, as needed.

The division of student affairs, strives to create a support system framed by the learning aims of exploring, engaging and belonging and team members will take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.

Essential Functions

Residence Life Process 40%

  • Serve as one of the database managers for the THD housing program including creating, accessing and distributing reports, provide user support and train colleagues on system usage
  • Serve as secondary contact for the One Card office in managing house access
  • Manage JMG and trunk room storage processes
  • Assist with student assignments, including entering student assignments, room changes, the annual room draw process and off-campus assignments
  • Assist with the distribution and inventory of student room keys
  • Assist with academic year break housing
  • Assist with extended housing, summer housing and early arrivals processes

High Need Populations 40%

  • Manage assignments for special need populations on campus, particularly Ada Comstock Scholars and students with housing accommodations
  • Collaborate with the Accessibility Resource Center and other campus partners, as needed
  • Manage housing transitions for students with housing accommodations to ensure services are being met throughout their experience
  • Serve as a resource for students, parents and guardians, faculty, staff and others around housing accommodations

Administrative Support 20%

  • Provide administrative support for all residence life processes, including the annual room draw process, student check-in/checkout, federal census reporting, new initiatives, special projects and other work to support the goals of the department
  • Respond to emails in the residence life email account
  • Provide support and oversight for student interns working with the Office of Residence Life
  • Support the administrative functions of the Division of Student Affairs when needed
  • Staff the Clark Hall front desk when needed
  • Support the development, revision and distribution of student affairs publications in print and on the college website when needed

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

  • Associate's degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Strong Google Suite and Microsoft Office skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in education, counseling, social work, IT or related field
  • Experience in a higher education setting, working with postsecondary students
  • Experience serving students with disabilities with knowledge of neurodivergent population needs
  • Experience with database management

Skills

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess a willingness to learn and quickly adapt to new technology, including The Housing Director, C-Cure, Workday and Maxient.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Must be able to work effectively independently and as a team member.
  • Must be able to multitask and appropriately prioritize assignments to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Must be able to perform job responsibilities while managing and responding to frequent interruptions.
  • Must demonstrate experience engaging with diverse constituencies, including but not limited to faculty, staff, students and families, third-party vendors and other agencies.

Additional Information

Required Hours:

The regular hours for this full time position are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday during the academic year and 8:00am to 4:00pm during the designated summer period. Weekend and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may be adjusted with supervisor approval in advance.
