Nightwing is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join the Infrastructure, Security and, Monitoring Team supporting commercial and federal customers. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting a Security Operations Center (SOC) and possess both engineering and assessor related skillsets. This position is part of a larger team; however, the candidate is expected to work well on his or her own under general supervision, be self-directed, able to multi-task, and prioritize work.

What Will You Do

  • Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.

  • Assess system vulnerabilities for security risks and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure.

  • Support the SOC with responding to computer security breaches and incidents.

  • Assist with year-round tracking, reporting, and providing recommendations on Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)

Qualifications You Must Have

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 4+ years of cyber security experience

  • Strong oral and written skills. Detailed oriented and documentation focused.

  • Experience with administration, creation, and management of POA&Ms.

  • Experience with managing and measuring security controls.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Cyber technologies with NIST 800 Series and DoD 8570 regulations and governing DISA STIGs and/or, SRGs

  • Experience with Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) concepts, to include 2-factor authentication, Public Key encryption techniques, patch management, end-point security systems, intrusion detection, security event management and/or defense-in-depth

  • Experience with information security toolsets such as Rapid 7, Tenable Security Center, and Nessus

  • Experience maintaining Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) inventory records in Xacta360 app or similar tool.

  • Self-Starter requiring limited direction and supervision

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
