Position Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is the teaching in the Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) Program for the Division of Occupational Therapy. Teaching will take place during the fall semester of 2024 (August 20, 2024 through December 4, 2024). This is a .33%, part-time position. Teaching will occur with students in the OTD program. The work assignments will be based on the curriculum of the OTD program, and the teaching needs of the Division.

Performance Objectives

• Perform learning activities (e.g., lecture and lab) for OCCTHER 6120: Human Occupations Performance and Analysis

• Review course materials in preparation for learning activities.

• Respond to student questions outside of class via email.

• Meet regularly with the students, and other parties, as required.

  • Evaluate student written work and assignments.
  • Grade student work and submit grades.
  • Attend OT Division meetings to coordinate course activities with program objectives, as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Occupational Therapy Degree

Experience in occupational therapy clinical practice.

Pre-professional or post-professional education in pediatric and adolescent occupational therapy practice.

Desired: 3 or more years of teaching experience; experience at the doctorate level in occupational therapy in teaching, training, and/or mentoring; teaching experience that demonstrates a record of intentional teaching practice including (a) creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all learners, (b) using new techniques, activities, and types of learning, (c) promoting diversity of thought, and (d) promoting open-minded exploration; 3 or more years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy practice. experience in teaching pediatric occupational therapy practice.

Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure.
