Job Summary

Columbus Technical College is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as an adjunct instructor for English in our General Education Department. As a key member of our faculty team, this individual will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality instruction to students, evaluating student progress, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Prepare and deliver lecture and/or lab course material, and develop lesson plans for classroom instruction for general core courses.
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives, and prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Student Support: Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students, and communicate students' progress to students and appropriate personnel according to established guidelines.
  • Professional Development: Stay current and comprehensive in knowledge of the subject areas to be taught, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
  • Administrative Tasks: Accurately record pertinent information in students' records as required, and prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
Requirements
  • Education: A Master's Degree in English from a regionally accredited college or university, or a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with 18 graduate semester hours or 27 graduate quarter hours in English.
  • Experience: One or more years' experience with instruction in a postsecondary setting is preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time exempt position, and may require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area. May be required to teach high school students, and may require travel.
