Vaco has a direct hire opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Saint Augustine, Florida.  
  • Provide full charge bookkeeping services with high-volume responsibilities for general ledger, journal entries, and monthly financial statements for assigned association accounts.
  • Other duties include posting assessments, capital contribution, and other fees.
  • Prepare monthly invoices or statements; posting interest and/or late fees to delinquent accounts.
  • Prepare past due statements along with follow up delinquency notices-no phone calls
  • Ensure payments are posted correctly; review Statement of Account before distribution to Title Company.
  • Prepare budget worksheets projecting end of year revenues and expense.
  • Support Auditors with appropriate documentation, reports and adjustments.
  • Excellent computer skills (MSWord and Excel), Data Entry, and Customer Service.
  • Minimum AA Degree in Accounting or the equivalent in experience required.
  • Requirement to deliver timely and accurate financial reports and provide support to Community Managers and Associations are key elements of success.  
  • Failure to provide accurate reports and service levels acceptable to the Association may result in loss of clients.

Formal Education
Minimum AA in Accounting, 2 years of Accounting courses or commensurate level of experience

Practical Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in GL, AP, AR and Financial Reporting
  • Knowledge of financial software applications
  • Computer skill in Word, Excel.
Personal Characteristics
  • Maintains high standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Well organized – able to prioritize
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Pro active – able to assess situations quickly and take appropriate action
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently; manage a heavy workload
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to handle difficult situations tactfully.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
