Job Summary

Provides Systems Engineering, Modernization, Maintenance, Testing, Logistics, and general Program Support to support NAVWAR program requirements for system integration, test and evaluation, systems analysis, specification guidance, and technical documentation supporting SATCOM broadcast systems with Navy unique shore and ship hardware.

Telework is not supported. Travel is required. 

Responsibilities and Duties

Provides technical documentation and meeting support, including developing and revising instructions, procedures, schematics, and other technical documentation. Provides technical presentation support. Provides engineering services and makes technical and programmatic recommendations supporting mission products. Attends meetings, reviews, and working groups in support of program objectives. Configures equipment to receive a live broadcast in coordination with Navy labs. Supports integration of equipment suites with shipboard networks during Application Integration events. Develops test plans/reports in accordance with documentation standards. Attends Test Readiness Review (TRR) briefings in support of integration test events. Prepares terminal images in accordance with Service Request Form (SRF) to satisfy test objectives and entrance criteria. Performs testing according to developed plans and records results in accordance with test report requirements. Supports maintenance of terminal hardware and software baseline for all software release updates within the NIWC Pacific test facility. Reviews all provided System Version Descriptions (SVDs) for accuracy. Supports the development of regression test plans and reports and performs regression testing as directed. Loads software images. Participates in software confidence testing of patch updates.

Qualifications and Skills

Required knowledge and years of experience

Must have at least five (5) years of experience. Must have demonstrated experience integrating global broadcast hardware and software. Must have demonstrated experience with fielding and sustainment support. Must have demonstrated experience with Test and Evaluation of global broadcast and split internet protocol systems. Must have demonstrated experience performing test and evaluation of software on Windows 10, Windows 7, and RedHat Enterprise Linux systems. Must have demonstrated experience in computer lab environments. Must have experience working with Shipboard networks such as CANES and ISNS. Must have experience with test and evaluation of internet networking protocols to include but not limited to multicast, unicast, and broadcast data. Must have technical writing experience. Desired one (1) year of experience testing software at a system integration level.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering

Certifications

Platform-specific certifications is desired.
