Amentum is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Construction Project Coordinator will report to the Construction Project Manager I and is responsible for the organization, direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities on a project site within the depot. Ensures all safety, procedural and environmental protocols are maintained throughout all construction phases of given projects. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Implements the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities.
  • Ensures timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
  • Acts as the primary customer contact for all construction project field activities.
  • Ensures all construction follows design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
  • Will function as a Project Manager on a direct-hire construction-only project or as the field manager on an engineering / procurement / construction management project.
  • Under minimal supervision will manage small to medium size projects or construction across the depot.
  • Under minimal supervision, establishes field objectives and procedures within company guidelines as necessitated by conditions at the job site.

  • Position may require travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an industrial environment that is in close proximity to and/or in a munition's demilitarization facility.
  • Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access.
  • Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction or related discipline or demonstrated combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Must have 5+ years construction and project related experience.
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of all engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management.
  • This is a journey level and the first level of Construction Management.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to operate a computerized based terminal and proficient with Microsoft applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess the ability to formulate reports, procedures, and written instructions.
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.

This position is designated as non-safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Hawthorne Army Depot Commander and HWAD O&M contract requirements.
