Construction Project Manager

The Construction Manager I will report to the Program Manager and is responsible for the organization, direct, supervision and coordination of construction activities on the depot.  Ensures all safety, procedural and environmental protocols are maintained throughout all construction phases of given projects.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records. 
  • Implements the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities. 
  • Ensures timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
  • Acts as the primary customer contact for all construction project field activities.
  • Ensures all construction follows design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
  • Will function as a Project Manager on an engineering / procurement / construction management project. 
  • Under minimal supervision will manage small to medium size construction across the depot.  
  • Under minimal supervision, establishes field objectives and procedures within company guidelines as necessitated by conditions at the job site.
  • Position may require travel.   
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an industrial environment that is in close proximity to and/or in a munition's demilitarization facility. 
  • Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction or related discipline or demonstrated combination of equivalent education and experience. 
  • Must have 8+ years of construction and project related experience.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of all engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management.
  • This is a journey level and the first level of Construction Management. 
  • Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to operate a computerized based terminal and proficient with Microsoft applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must possess the ability to formulate reports, procedures, and written instructions.
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assign, supervise and direct work activities of assigned personnel.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
  • Responsible for training and development of assigned personnel.
  • Other:  Review work of assigned personnel for compliance with policies and procedures, effective of coordination, technical accuracy, safety, surety, and for attainment of objectives.

Safety Sensitive: This position is designated as non-safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program.  As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Hawthorne Army Depot Commander and HWAD O&M contract requirements.
