As the largest provider of Affordable Housing in the Salt Lake Valley, we support over 10,000 individuals, including seniors, persons with disabilities, children, previously homeless individuals, and households with limited incomes.

Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at HASLC will play a key role in overseeing all financial operations to support our mission of promoting affordable housing. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the CFO will manage and direct financial activities critical to achieving organizational goals, including financial oversight, reporting, forecasting, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations and GAAP accounting principles.
  • Direct financial strategy, investments, and long-term financial planning to support organizational objectives.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for the finance and accounting team.
  • Prepare and communicate monthly and annual financial statements accurately and timely.
  • Oversee financial operations to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with executive management, board of commissioners, and stakeholders on financial reporting and funding applications.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in financial management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems, budgeting, and compliance with federal housing programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of office software and accounting platforms; experience with Yardi is advantageous.
