Custodial Assistant Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

The Custodial Assistant Manager works closely with the Custodial Post-Event Manager to lead and empower a large crew after a variety of events end at Delta Center including hockey games, Jazz games, concerts, and many more This position requires an understanding of the overall goals of these facilities and manages the day-to-day operations to meet those goals. This position shares a responsibility of maintaining a “show ready” appearance and high standard of cleanliness. This shift requires late night working hours including weekends and holidays.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in managing and motivating a large team of custodial staff
  • Strive to maintain and preserve one of the cleanest arenas in the NBA
  • Adaptable timing and tasks of the daily workload to meet changing needs
  • Respond to the needs and demands of the crew and facilities as challenges arise
  • Help to train new employees on how to complete tasks
  • Assist in control of sanitation throughout the building after events
  • Report needs for repairs to manager
  • Ensure that high quality control standards are met for events and day-to-day operations
  • Create employee schedules and monitor attendance
  • Possess a vision of goals for the custodial crew in a given work day or throughout the sports season

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum 4 years of custodial experience preferred
  • Proven experience leading and motivating large teams
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs
  • Must be able to operate cleaning machinery
