Summary

Summary/Objective

The Contract Administration Analyst is primarily responsible for drafting and negotiation various commodity marketing and trading agreements, including transportation and storage agreements and function at JERA Americas and works closely with the Commercial, Risk, and Credit teams.

Position Description

Essential Functions

-In close alignment with the Manger, Contract Administration, Commercial team and Commercial Counsel draft, review and negotiate agreements related to the purchase and sale of physical and financial products, including, but not limited to, power purchase agreements, tolling agreements, NAESBs, First Lien ISDAs, transportation and storage, NDAs, and various other marketing and trading agreements.
-Liaise with Legal, Credit, Commercial and other support partners to assure any additional terms are properly incorporated into contracts. 
-Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Commercial, Risk and Credit teams 
-Provide weekly updates of any outstanding items to Commercial Counsel and participate in weekly update meetings with Commercial, Credit and Legal teams.
-Update Contract Status Log on routine basis.
-Work with counterparties to obtain required KYC documents and onboarding information and liaise with KYC Compliance with regard to  same.  
-Proactively identify opportunities to further streamline process and improve productivity.
-Participate in testing of contract lifecycle management system and process upgrades.  
-Ensure that any agreement is in accordance with internal guidelines and policies. 
-Maintain counterparties and contracts information in trading platform and contract database as well as assist with other counterparty onboarding tasks as required.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Must be able to sit at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged time as necessary.

Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are established between the employee and the supervisor.

Travel
Minimum business travel is expected for this position. 
 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

-Bachelor’s degree in engineering, accounting, business, math, or relevant experience in the electric energy industry
-Minimum 3 to 5 years of contract administrative experience in a trading environment
-Document administration in Microsoft Word
 

Preferred Qualifications

-Knowledge and understanding of the industry’s regulations and best practices
-Hands-on experience with a variety of reporting operations and procedure
-Familiarity and understanding of working with contracts and/or energy markets
-Understanding financial implications associated with physical and financial transactions in wholesale electricity and natural gas
-Ability to assess contractual risk and make decisions accordingly
-Capable of effectively communicating with internal and external contacts
