We are currently seeking a Senior Testing Engineering to join our team in Quantico, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

 

Analyzes and conducts thorough quality-control tests to ensure that software operates properly, is defect-free, and meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Uses Quality Assurance (QA) principles, methodologies, tools and techniques to ensure quality. Documents and works to resolve all problems. Reports progress on problem resolution to leadership. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provides services and technical advice in monitoring software development to gain an understanding of newly developed system functionality, operations, logic, and acceptance test criteria (ATC).
  • Provides services and technical advice in ensuring proper verification and validation of software, as defined in user story ATC.
  • Provides services and technical advice in the performing Government Acceptance Testing (GAT). GAT provides independent verification that the developed software meets and performs to the stated release requirements, and more importantly, is ready for official deployment to end-users.
  • Provides services and technical advice in troubleshooting reported Tier III, internal code defects, and development code defects in the software, when required.
  • Provides services and technical advice in the reviewing and providing feedback on contract deliverables; over 100 annually.
  • Provides services and technical advice in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the GAT test environments.
  • Ensures test environments mirror the production environments as closely as possible.
  • Provides services and technical advice in planning, executing, and monitoring of the software release User Acceptance Testing (UAT), when required and scheduled.
  • Provides services and technical advice in writing draft updates, maintains software test cases, and automated test scripts on a continuous and regular basis upon client approval.
  • Provides cost, schedule, or performance methodologies for software testing improvements.
  • Provides services and technical advice in maintaining software test case databases.
  • Provides services and technical advice in maintaining Government Azure DevOps, Microsoft Test Manager, and Test Complete software/databases.
  • Provides services and technical advice in providing input and suggestions for Change Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Provides services and technical advice in reviewing automated test cases and provides recommendations to the client.
  • Common responsibilities/functions/activities in addition to regular duties/performance:
    1. Provides services and advice to government in the review, feedback, and approval recommendations for assigned deliverables.
    2. Provides services and advice in the identification, evaluation, monitoring, and resolution of program risks and issues.
    3. Provides services and advice to the government in preparing future program procurements, to include gap analyses.
    4. Provides services and advice including the attendance of local meetings and conferences, when required.
    5. Provides services and advice, and will travel to attend meetings and conferences, when defined by the client. (local, national, and international).
    6. Prepares and provides technical presentations on assigned topics within defined timeframes and deadlines.
    7. Participates in the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) exercises in appointed role(s) and locations.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a software test engineer on complex multi-tiered software to include the following:
    • Creation of formal software test procedures/scripts using an automated testing too.
    • Development of test data to be used in formal software test procedures/scripts.
    • Peer review of software test scripts.
    • Manual execution of formal software test scripts.
    • Documentation of testing results.
    • Identification and reporting of software bugs.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop test plans and procedures and develop innovative ways to test software and end-user interfaces.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting testing scenarios of system functionality.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, and SharePoint (user).
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software testing to deliver a quality product without high priority defects. 
  • Work experience on a project designated as Agile; specifically, being experienced with agile project management approaches.
  • Work experience using Microsoft Test Manager, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Microsoft Access, SharePoint (user), VMware or similar software applications.
  • Work experience with automated testing using TestComplete or similar automated testing tool to create automated test case scenarios.
  • Experience with systems engineering as it relates to set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of testing environments.
  • Current on the latest industry Security/Information Assurance policies and practices.
  • Work experience with Microsoft Test Manager, Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps, Microsoft Access, SharePoint (user), VMware or similar software applications.

 

Currently one day a week of telework is allowed and the candidate must work onsite at the FBI Lab in Quantico for 4 days a week.
