We are seeking an experienced Chef/Lead Cook to join our growing kitchen team this season, as we unveil a new lunchtime menu for our taproom
As Taproom Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing daytime food production and ensuring high-quality menu offerings.
This position is full-time hourly, with competitive pay and pooled tips.
Responsibilities:
Planning, preparing, cooking, and presenting our daytime menu to keep up with guest demand Costing out food menu items to ensure margins are in line with industry standards Keeping inventory for kitchen-related ingredients and disposables and working with Sway's Owner to order as needed Managing food quantities, ensuring we have sufficient stock but also keeping waste to a minimum Collaborating with Sway's Owner to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes Helping train and develop kitchen employees, as well as helping train front-of-house employees on menu offerings Complying with health and safety regulations and making sure all other Bakery staff respect these regulations Maintaining a clean and organized workplace so all employees can locate resources as needed and work without distraction Ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly maintainedExperience:
Proven experience working in a culinary role Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary principles Proficient in menu planning, recipe development, and portion control Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and customersIf you are passionate about food, local sourcing, and sustainable cooking practices and looking to join a growing team in a fast-paced but casual environment, we would love to hear from you.
