JOB SUMMARY

The Director of IT - Infrastructure is expected to work collaboratively with the IT Leadership Team and Business Leaders to support the delivery of IT services and infrastructure to the Airline. This job requires strong interpersonal and communication abilities to work with a wide variety of employees across the organization including stakeholders, executives, individual contributors, subject matter experts, and external vendors. The Director of IT - Infrastructure is expected to have strong financial skills, leadership skills, and a broad understanding of infrastructure technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Utilize appropriate management tools to manage the area of responsibility and ensure results are delivered within budget and on schedule. Report on project status to CIO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Develop the annual budget for IT Services and provide monthly spend forecasts to the Finance team and CIO.
  • Partner with Finance to develop appropriate financial analysis to support spending and ensure IT vendors are paid on time.
  • Ensure competitive sourcing, proactively manage vendors, and ensure contracts are appropriately managed.
  • Manage development of talent on the IT Services team. This includes developing high performers, addressing low performers, and developing succession candidates.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control infrastructure, including enhancement and maintenance projects in conjunction with customer requirements.
  • Develop, implement, update, and maintain infrastructure policies, standards, and procedures where appropriate to improve quality and productivity.
  • Provide overall management of the IT Infrastructure & Networking vision, team, execution to meeting Airline goals. Inclusive of the following areas: system hardware, software, operating systems, cloud solutions, networking concepts (such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), active directory & group policy administration, switches, firewall, server applications such as SQL Server & RDS, phone & voice technologies.
  • Own evolving ITSM to support continuous development and DevOps.
  • Own evolving initiatives to mature customer support practices and build a high performing team.
  • Ensure that products, applications, and systems are in compliance with established quality standards, and meet customer requirements.
  • Define software delivery process and tech methodology for tools and applications.
  • Actively participates in building the Infrastructure (on-prem and cloud) strategy for Sun Country.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative environment capitalizing on employee talents, experience, interests, and diversity to reach high performance.
  • Provide leadership by establishing and managing individual and team goals.
  • Develop and maintain an overall sourcing plan which includes creative sourcing options and alternatives to ensure supply capacities meet work demand, role, and skill requirements and cost objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of IT Services experience
  • 5+ years of management/supervisor experience with increasing leadership responsibilities
  • Experience managing managers
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop a high performing team
  • Proven ability to manage and drive organizational change

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones photocopiers, filing cabinets.
