DIRECTOR, PHILANTHROPY

What you'll do.

Join our American Brain Foundation leadership team as the Director of Philanthropy, where you'll not only lead a dedicated team of fundraising professionals but also play a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction alongside the Executive Director and senior leadership. Your mission will be to craft and implement a dynamic fundraising strategy, guiding our efforts to secure crucial support and sustain our impactful initiatives. You'll mentor and oversee our talented fundraisers while personally forging meaningful connections with major donors, ensuring our vision for positive change becomes a reality.

What we look for.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, public administration, fundraising, philanthropic studies or similar area required.
  • Master's degree in business, communications, public administration, fundraising, philanthropic studies or similar area is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in philanthropy, including experience raising gifts of at least seven figures
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is required; AAN employees may substitute requirement with 3 years leading program teams, project teams, and/or team lead experience.

*Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for qualification requirements.

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel required - approximately 30%. Ability to legally travel outside of the United States, particularly but not limited to Canada.

Location: United States - The Foundation's work environment is identified as hybrid. The position is primarily remote, with a requirement to meet per Executive Director discretion in our Minneapolis office
