We’re hiring a Fire Alarm Technician to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon

Job Summary:
Assure operation of fire alarm, emergency lighting, exit signs, and other related equipment/systems. Work in conjunction with Xanterra Risk Department Managers and outside Telecommunications Contractors.

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $21.60+ per hour depending on experience
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance, testing, and record-keeping for all fire and security alarm systems on the property as required by code.
  • Installs replacement smoke detectors, heat sensors, and security monitoring devices.
  • Responsible for maintenance, testing, and record-keeping of all emergency lighting and exit sign equipment on property as required by code.
  • Responsible for initiation of material orders, maintaining inventories, and accounting for all materials and tools.
  • Comply with all safety, risk management, and environmental policies as related to the position.

Qualifications:

  • Prior knowledge of property fire alarm systems, and their functions.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes for fire alarm systems.
  • Must be familiar with the use of materials and equipment common to the trade.
  • Know basic electrical and electronic circuitry principles as they apply to fire alarm systems and the ability to stay current with new technology.
  • Must have ability to identify code and equipment deficiencies and recommend proper corrective action.
  • Possess or obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 90 days of start date and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
