Fire Pros LLC is seeking dedicated and practical individuals eager to acquire skills in the fire protection sector. Our Grand Rapids-based team excels in the installation and inspection of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, and fire extinguishers. We maintain a vast clientele, managing over 10,000 fire systems with ongoing inspection and repair services.

Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.

  • Opportunities for quarterly bonuses.
  • Compensation for emergency service calls at time and a half for the first three hours.
  • Double time for emergency service calls on recognized holidays, plus regular holiday pay.

This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience while training to become a licensed and certified Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician. Trainees will learn to inspect, repair, and potentially install fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens.

Key Responsibilities (Post-Training):

  • Inspecting and repairing pre-engineered kitchen fire suppression systems from manufacturers such as ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde, and Piranha.
  • Understanding NFPA standards, manufacturer guidelines, and local fire regulations related to kitchen fire suppression systems.
  • Conducting on-site emergency troubleshooting for fire suppression systems.
  • Identifying NFPA compliance issues and non-conformance matters.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for all tasks performed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with hand tools including pipe wrenches, channel locks, and drills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license with no more than three points is required.
  • Availability for night and weekend emergency services is essential.
  • A willingness to learn about various kitchen fire systems, fire extinguishers, and other fire safety equipment to achieve certification.
  • Proactive approach to pursuing opportunities and achieving objectives.
  • Strong attendance record and ability to handle responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain work processes and necessary repairs to clients.
  • Proficient writing skills for detailed service reports.
  • Organizational skills to manage service tickets and documentation efficiently.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work overhead.
