What you'll do:

The Assistant Director of Regulatory Reporting position is an integral member of the Bank Regulatory Reporting (BRR) team reporting into the Head of Regulatory Reporting. The BRR team is a high-profile function, providing financial information to the regulators including the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), FDIC and other state agencies. The position will have a high level of visibility within the organization with opportunities to work directly on a regular basis with Management and will also interact very closely with other groups throughout Customers, including Risk, Treasury, Controllers, SEC Reporting, Accounting Policy, Financial Planning & Analysis and Capital Planning.

The core responsibilities include preparation, analysis, and review of the daily, weekly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual Regulatory Reports required by FRB and FDIC for Customers Bancorp, Inc. and Customer Bank entities, including FFIEC 041 (Call Report), FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, FR Y-6, FR Y-8, FR 2900, and the Summary of Deposits (SOD). Other responsibilities include certain earnings release, 10-Q/10-K disclosures, preparation/review of Board of Directors and Senior Management Presentations and Analyst Packages, maintenance of the Regulatory Reporting Policies and Procedures, internal controls on Regulatory data integrity, data quality improvement projects as well as implementation of new reporting systems.

Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and Review of Regulatory Reports - FFIEC 041 (Call Report, FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, FR Y-6, FR Y-8, FR 2900, FR 2420, and Summary of Deposits Lead in-depth analysis of variances focusing on various products such as loans, securities, deposits and derivatives, incorporating the understanding of regulatory reporting along with financial analysis in order to communicate results to Senior Management and US Regulatory Agencies Keep abreast of industry, regulatory, and accounting developments. Apply solid knowledge of Finance/accounting concepts and principles to ensure accurate Regulatory Reporting filings. Review new regulatory reporting requirements and US GAAP accounting pronouncements, to determine the impact on the Regulatory Report filings. Continually monitor developments in the Federal Reserve Reporting Arena and assist the Finance functions in implementing and meeting the reporting requirements Work and partner with multiple areas across Customers Bank, including Controllers, SEC Reporting, Treasury, Risk, Accounting Policy, Financial Planning and Analysis, Mergers & Acquisitions, Legal, and Investor Relations to maintain a high level of quality and accuracy of the report filings. Establish strong working relationships with key contacts. Drives reengineering, process efficiencies and continuous process improvement efforts to strengthen controls. Participate in data quality improvement projects to strengthen controls and improve report accuracy. Participate/lead in regulatory exams, internal audits and address external analysts' questions while maintaining an effective and professional relationships with regulators, internal and external auditors. Other responsibilities include conducting thorough research and analysis of regulatory reporting, and other regulatory matters, as warranted, and presenting results in a well-conceived and clear fashion. Responsible for Managing, training, mentoring, and evaluating assigned staff.
What do you need?
Minimum 7-10+ years of financial analysis/reporting experience, preferably US Regulatory Reporting experience (e.g. FR Y-9C, FFIEC 041) related to various products such as loans, securities, deposits and derivatives. Strong familiarity with GAAP/SEC financial reporting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance. CPA/MBA designation is preferred Ability to innovate and champion progress for efficiency and productivity. Sense of urgency in implementing processes and evaluating priorities; decisive, action-oriented and practical. Highly motivated and goal-oriented with ability to lead in a professional and challenging environment and deliver results against fast-paced deliverable deadlines Flexibility to work under pressure to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines. Outstanding presentation, communication, interpersonal and coaching skills. Ability to align teams and resources to fit the overall strategy.
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience Master's degree preferred
Technology Skills:
Experience with systems implementation and automation a plus, inclusive of Workday (and Prism), Alteryx, or other Regulatory Reporting tools such as Nasdaq (legacy AxiomSL ControllerView), Vermeg, Regnology, Wolters Kluwer, or Fed Reporter, Inc. Technology savvy, SQL knowledge preferred - Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
