The Category and Price Book Manager is responsible for managing product categories and maintaining accurate pricing information across all stores in our convenience store chain. This role involves analyzing sales data, developing pricing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that product offerings meet customer needs and company goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, pricing analysis, and category management.

Requirements:

Category Management:

  • Develop and implement category strategies to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotions.
  • Conduct market research and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for category growth.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate category performance, adjusting strategies as needed to meet sales and profitability targets.

Price Book Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date price book information for all products across the chain.
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing policies and procedures across all stores.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure pricing accuracy and consistency.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze sales, margin, and inventory data to assess category performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Prepare regular reports on category performance, pricing effectiveness, and market trends.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with store operations to ensure proper implementation of category and pricing strategies.
  • Coordinate with the vendors to manage inventory levels and product availability.

Customer Focus:

  • Understand customer preferences and behaviors to tailor product offerings and pricing strategies.
  • Gather customer feedback and use it to improve category performance and customer satisfaction.

Supplier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best terms and support for category initiatives.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in category management, pricing analysis, or a similar role within the retail industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with retail management software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality products and services.

Willingness to travel:

  • Up to 25% (Preferred), depending on store needs
