In collaboration with the Human Resources Director, oversee the recruitment and hiring process for Gateway-Longview employment opportunities to ensure there is an adequate flow of qualified and diverse candidates for all employment and internship opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee external advertising by writing creative and persuasive job ads for all open positions
  • Work closely with hiring supervisors and HR Director to determine the most appropriate placement of job ads while optimizing agency budgets
  • Perform first review of all qualified applicants and interns and conduct pre-screen interviews for assigned positions
  • Provide outreach to area colleges and employment/training centers to drive awareness of employment and internship opportunities
  • Represent New View Alliance and its member agencies at all external recruitment events (i.e. career and college fairs)
  • Ensure collaboration among Human Resources team and hiring supervisors across both Agencies to determine the best fit of all qualified candidates being considered
  • Assist with the completion of reference checks
  • Extend offers of employment and notification to applicants and interns not being selected
  • Advise and collaborate with hiring supervisors to ensure the effective use and status of candidates in Agency Applicant Tracking System
  • Participate in committee meetings that focus on recruitment and retention initiatives
  • Assist as needed with the interview process for positions, as assigned
  • Maintain a standard operating procedural manual of duties and keeps it up to date
  • Stay up to date on changes in recruitment best practices to ensure effective use of Agency funds
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned
    Required Qualifications
    • Self-motivated and detail oriented with excellent verbal and communication skills
    • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage candidates and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds
    • Associate’s Degreein Human Resources or related field and 1 year of relevant experience
    • Current NYS Driver’s License
