Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Terminal Operations Manager to join our team at STA of New York, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting the Terminal Manager with the overall day-to-day operations of the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Terminal Manager with coordinating all functions of the facility, including maintenance, dispatching, and communicating with drivers, school district personnel, and parents.
  • Ensure coverage of daily home to school routes, trips, and charters.
  • Assist with driver training and recruitment programs.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources when conducting disciplinary actions of employees.
  • Assist in maintaining driver credential files to ensure current certifications.
  • Prepare payroll, account receivables, account payables, and month-end requirements for timely submission.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and on-time service through efficient and cost-effective solutions to routing issues.
  • Implement School District contracts and facility leases.
  • Attend School Board meetings as directed.
  • Carry out all STA policies and State & Federal applicable regulations.
  • Ensure all drivers and staff are equipped with necessary job-related training.
  • Assist with planning monthly driver safety meetings.
  • Participate in planning yearly financial requirements.
  • Develop charter and school business for assets during non-school days and summer months.
  • May be required to drive on occasion.
Requirements
  • State-Required Commercial Drivers License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements (preferred).
  • Associates Degree from an accredited University or College in Business (desired). Bachelors of Art Degree in Business (preferred).
  • Three (3) or more years' experience in school bus operations; minimum of one (1) year in a leadership role or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, lead, and motivate personnel.
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment and meet tight timelines.
  • Proficiency with computer and software.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
  • Conduct oneself professionally and reflect positively on STA.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to evaluate and discipline drivers and enforce STA policy and procedure.
  • Highly motivated and demonstrate capable leadership skills.
