Cultivation Field Tech (105273)

A microalgae farm in Kailua-Kona is seeking a Field Tech to help with the daily monitoring, maintenance and cleaning of their microalgae systems.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in algal production, aquaculture or farming and be knowledgeable of basic plumbing, electrical, or construction work.

Hours Full-time Location Kailua-Kona, Big Island Pay $20 an hour Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of systems in the cultivation of algae.
  • Prepare nutrient and trace stock solutions.
  • Maintain inventory of all nutrient and chemicals and order as needed.
  • Clean culture systems and sanitize.
  • Monitor algae health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in algal production, aquaculture or farming preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, or construction work is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and state and federal background check.
