How does this role contribute to our collective success?
The Product Manager for Pet Insurance will be responsible for the strategic product management of the Pet Insurance product portfolio within the Accident & Health Division. The primary focus will be ensuring the competitiveness and compliance of our pet insurance offerings in the market.

The individual's prior experience will include designing, creating, revising, and implementing products distributed to individual consumers. The role will include researching the product benefits, features, and related services to identify minimum standards to maintain a competitive position in the pet insurance industry, enabling the organization to achieve its revenue and profit business plans. The product manager will establish relationships with key contacts within our distribution partners and collaborate within AXIS. This entails coordinating activities among internal functions in Compliance, Actuarial, Product Development, and Claims to facilitate the evolution of our products and services.

What will you do in this role?
• Lead the development and enhancement of our pet insurance products, identify market needs, refine product features, and manage annual state filings.
• Monitor market trends and competitor developments to identify product improvement and differentiation opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Actuarial, Product Development, and Claims, to ensure alignment between product objectives and strategies.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Product Development to monitor appropriate governance processes and controls to ensure regulatory compliance for AXIS and our strategic partners.
• Assist Product Development with initial policy language and responses to objections and inquiries from regulatory agencies in response to filings, ensuring timely delivery of product changes.
• Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process to ensure the proper system implementation of all form and rate filing changes.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

What you need to have:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; professional designations preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• In-depth knowledge of pet insurance line of business
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
• Advanced analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to operate with ambiguity and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and other business-related software

What we prefer you to have:
• Professional designations, e.g. CPCU, AIPM, CIPM
• Experience in supporting large complex projects and insurance programs is a plus.

Role Factors:

In this role, you will typically be required to:
Embrace the hybrid culture offered at AXIS, you need to be in office 3 days per week.
Much of the work involves using computers for data entry, analysis, and communication. Comfort with prolonged screen time is necessary.
While much of the work may be desk-bound, there might be occasions requiring mobility within the office environment, such as attending meetings.
What we offer:

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of 85-105k. The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors, including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location. In addition, all employees are eligible for competitive incentive targets, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
