Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing

Our hotel is renowned for its convenient location, exceptional service, unparalleled connectivity, and versatile event spaces. We are investing over $50 million in the property to re-launch as the only lifestyle hotel in the neighborhood, the AC Marriott at National Landing. We are seeking a seasoned, energetic and innovative Sales Manager to join our team and spearhead our sales efforts during this transformative period and beyond.
Position Overview:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for generating revenue primarily through group sales by responding to leads reactively, developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients and uncovering new revenue streams through active solicitation. This role involves identifying market opportunities, crafting tailored proposals, and executing sales strategies to achieve budgeted goals. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a proven track record in hotel sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel agencies, and other potential business sources.
- Conduct sales calls, presentations, and site inspections to prospective clients.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the hotel.
Client Management:
- Manage existing client relationships to maximize revenue and ensure repeat business.
- Prepare and present customized proposals and contracts that meet client needs while aligning with hotel revenue goals.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of events and guest stays.
- Address and resolve any client issues or concerns promptly.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing to develop promotional strategies and marketing campaigns.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses.
- Track sales activities, client interactions, and revenue metrics using CRM software.
- Provide insights and recommendations to optimize sales strategies and improve overall performance.
Revenue Maximization:
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current, and potential clients.
- Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
- Manage accounts ensuring pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
- Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
- Maintain hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue.
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Articulate and leverage the benefits of the hotel to close sales opportunities.
Local Travel:
- Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.

Represent the hotel at trade shows, conferences, and other industry related events.
Sustainability:
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHMs EarthView program.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in hotel sales or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of the local market and industry trends is a plus.
Work Environment and Context:
- Work schedule varies and may include occasionally working on holidays and weekends.
- Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.

Moderate travel between hotel and clients locations required.
