What You Will Achieve
As a Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will be part of Pfizer's Worldwide Research and Development team that employs a multidisciplinary approach to identify and target cancer cell cycle for developing the next generation Oncology therapeutics and therapeutic combinations. You will contribute to early discovery and protein engineering for the development of novel biotherapeutics. You will be responsible for supporting therapeutic projects by discovering antibodies via phage display and characterizing resulting molecules. The successful candidate will possess expertise in both antibody-discovery methods, molecular biology, and in vitro assays, such as SPR. With your deep knowledge in the discipline, you will be an active team member who influences at the project team level. You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience and consulting others. Your ability to plan will help in preparing short-term work activities on projects. Your creativity in developing novel processes and new ideas will be used frequently. You will undertake mentoring activities to guide your team members.

How You Will Achieve It
Perform phage panning against a variety of antigen sources and formats under the supervision of more senior team members
Serve as a subject-matter expert on project teams and represent the Display Technologies group
Generate recombinant antibodies and antibody fragments from bacteria and mammalian cells
Assay binding of recombinant antibodies using a variety of techniques (e.g., ELISA, SPR, BLI, etc.)
Perform epitope-binning experiments with panels of antibodies
Keep an up-to-date and accurate electronic laboratory notebook
Participate in group meetings and other relevant team meetings
Present protocols and data related to phage-display campaigns within individual and project team meetings
Interact directly with cross-functional teams to coordinate and plan inter-group tasks
Assist with innovation projects related to display technologies, antibody discovery, and antibody characterization
Evaluate data and provide clear reports that can be shared and transferred to and from cross-functional teams.
Pay attention to detail, strictly adhere to safety protocols, and use knowledge of basic laboratory procedures to advance projects under rapidly shifting priorities and timelines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Bachelor's Degree
6+ years of experience
Experience in protein-based assays (e.g., ELISA, SPR, or BLI)
Experience culturing mammalian cell lines, including practicing good aseptic technique
Familiarity with at least one antibody discovery or display technology (e.g., phage display, yeast display, mammalian display, hybridoma, or single B-cell cloning) is a plus
Ability to collaborate across teams
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Ability to plan, manage, and organize their work with minimal oversight
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to maintain a good working laboratory notebook
Nice-to-Have
Knowledge of antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), antibody-based therapeutics, and antibody discovery
Knowledge of protein expression and purification (bacterial or mammalian)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,900.00 to $124,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
